    I have read Gurenkan and Mukashi Mukashi Aru Tokoro Ni~ already and especially the latter is really good, transforming famous Japanese fairy tales like Urashima Tarou and Tsuru no Ongaeshi into deliciously well-plotted mysteries.

Personally, I’m most impressed by two trends: the steady appearance of anthologies specifically designed for the Japanese readers (the book by Robert Lopresti does not exist not in Japanese!), as well as the proliferation of the Chinese authors in the list. They are really an untapped mine that just awaits!
